The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

“The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” is a great book. And the author of this famous is Stephen R. Covey.  And these 7 habits are

  • Habit 1: Be Proactive
  • Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
  • Habit 3: Put First Things First
  • Habit 4: Think Win-Win
  • Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
  • Habit 6: Synergize
  • Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

For me, Habit 1: Be proactive, Habit 2:Begin with the End in Mind , and Habit 6: Synergize are important for me. Because as a young student, proactive personality is a vital part of my personality. I am always very proactive to initial a activity or respond more works in a group. In additional, the second habit is critical to success and I know it. Everything has their beginning and end, so I know if I would like to be successful I have to realize” Begin with the End in Mind”. Although sometime when I start to do a assignment, I feel like want to do some other thing, like watch TV, it is typical procrastination. But I can finish my stuffs on time and I think I can realize the importance of habit2. And then Habit6, for sure, not only about me, everyone need to partners in some complicated projects. For example, I had a very complicated T2 tax return case to do, I was so confused in some part of income and deductions. Nevertheless, I did not need to do that alone, my co-workers can help me with that. Everyone came up with their own viewpoint of that case, and we worked it out clearly, eventually.

In addition, there 7 habits are not only for business. I will apply there habits to my educational career too. Firstly, proactive and positive attitudes are necessary. Maybe I will encounter some difficulties in educational career, but I am not supposed to be negative. Because negative attitude can not help you at all! And from second habit, I know we have to realize I need to complete one thing when I start, like when every semester starts, I have to set a goal for myself, such as GPA over 4.

Furthermore, for my workplace, I will apply there habits to it too. Frankly, accounting is a little boring and repetitive job. Nonetheless, I do not hate it even I like it. Because every time, when I finish a case for a client, I feel happy from that. I save tax for them and I do not avoid to get more responsibility in my workplace. I think this is proactive attitude.  And from habit5, I know understanding between co-workers is very important. Thus, I should forgive some small mistake my co-workers make which affect my working process. I do not think to yelling at some one can help me at all, and maybe I will lose a friend.
